Chicken Relay
Equipment: Tennis balls, cone for starting line, 3 boxes or trash cans.
Place: North End of High School Football Field
Objective: To transfer as many tennis balls as possible to the boxes
Procedure: Provide each team with a number of tennis balls. Each team will let 2 players run at one time. When the relay begins, the first team member will put a tennis ball (chicken egg) between his or her knees and waddle to a box that has been set up a fixed distance away. When the first student has reached the halfway point, the next student in line may go. Each student must get close enough to the box so when he or she releases their knees, the ball falls into the box (nest). The student runs back to the team and tags the next person in line, who then picks up the next egg and waddles off to deposit it in the nest. If the egg is dropped the student must pick it up, take it back to the bucket at the starting line, and go to the end of the line. Points are awarded for each egg dropped in the box.

Fun Mats
Equipment: 3 mats per team and 1 plank
Place: Elementary Multi-Purpose Room
Objective: To be the first team to complete each mat activity.
Procedure: Task One: an equal number of team members must be on 3 mats while they are folded. You could have 5 students on one and 6 on the other, etc. Without touching the floor, each team must completely unfold the mat. Whatever mat you started on, you must stay on. While the mats are unfolded and students are on each mat again, each team must fold the mats back to their original position.
Task Two: Ocean Voyage-using 2 mats each team must move the mats and team players across the gym floor and back without any student touching the floor. A 10 second penalty is given for touching the floor.
Task Three: Walking the plank-using 3 mats and 1 plank, each team must move all members from one end of the gym to the other end using the following restrictions.
1. No one must ever touch the floor between the starting line and finish line.
2. All 4 pieces of equipment must be used. Students cannot jump from mat to mat. The plank must be used.
3. There can never be more than 5 students on a mat at any one time and only 1 person is allowed on the plank at any one time.
First team to get all of their members to the other side wins.
*Any time a student touches the floor, that team must completely stop and count to 15 as their penalty. Points will be awarded for each task as follows: first place is 15 points, second place is 10 points and third place is 5 points.
Giant Jenga
Equipment: Giant Jenga Towers
Place: North End of Track
Objective: The goal of the game is to dismantle the Jenga Tower and rebuild it higher without causing the tower to topple over in the process
Procedure: Just randomly decide who goes first. A Jenga move consists of taking one block from any level of the tumble tower and replacing it on the top of the tower in a criss-cross pattern. Any Jenga block can be used except those from the very bottom layer and the top two layers. Only one hand at a time should be used to remove or replace a Jenga block. It is not permitted to hold or steady the tower with the other hand. Jenga blocks may be tapped or knocked in order to find a loose Jenga block that is safe to move without disturbing or bringing down the tumble tower. A player’s turn is over once the next person touches the tower or after 10 seconds has elapsed-whichever comes first. The game ends when the tower falls or if only one or two blocks fall. The loser is the team that has the player who causes the tower to fall-it may not be their fault but if the Jenga tower falls during their turn the other two teams earn 10 points each. If the tower has not fallen before the expiration of that station each team will be awarded 10 points.
**If the tower falls before time has expired, rebuild it and start another game.
**Each colored group will be split into 6 smaller groups.

Equipment: Pick-Up Sticks
Place: Playground Basketball Courts
Objective: To earn more points for your team than the opponents.
Procedure: An adult in charge will mix up the Pick-up Sticks and make sure all sticks are touching and stacked on top of one another. Determine which team is to go first. For this game a player may only pick up on stick at a time. The only stick that is allowed to move is the one the player is trying to pick-up. If any other stick moves, that player's turn is over, and a play passes to the next player. Sticks have different values according to their color. Continue play alternating after each stick has been picked up until all sticks have been collected.

Place: Practice Football Field Area
Objective: To clear the creek without getting wet!
Procedure: Two ropes will start at a specified distance apart. Each team will take turns jumping the creek! A student is wet or out if they touch either rope, if they touch the area between the ropes, or if they do not land safely….meaning they cannot fall down. After each team has had a turn jumping, one rope is moved back and the creek widens. Depending on the number of students that remain in the contest, move the rope 6 inches or a foot, etc. Jumping continues until you have a First place winner 20 points, Second place winner 15 points, and the third place winner is 10 points.

Kerplunk
Equipment: 6 Kerplunk towers, Kerplunk sticks, cones, balls
Place: North Tennis Courts
Objective: To skillfully remove sticks one at a time from the top of the game dropping the fewest balls.
Procedure: On each turn choose any stick and pull it away carefully, all the way out of the tube, trying not to move the balls causing them to fall. The first stick you touch is the stick you must pull. You may hold the tube steady with your other hand if needed. When you have removed the stick, place it aside on the ground. It's now the next player's turn to pull a stick out. A player's turn is not completely over until the moment the next player touches a stick. Any balls that drop before the next player touches a stick are added to the previous player's score. The game is over when all the balls have dropped to the ground or time is up. The team that has caused the fewest number of balls to drop when the game is over will be awarded 10 points at the conclusion of each game. The team that has caused the 2nd fewest number of balls to drop will be awarded 5 points. Zero points for the team that has caused the most balls to drop.

Limbo
Equipment: Horizontal Bar & 2 Vertical Bars
Place: Practice Football Field Area
Objective: To be the last person remaining.
Procedure: Make sure there is an adult on each side of the vertical poles. At the beginning of the game set the horizontal bar high enough so that the tallest player can get under it easily. Have each team stand in a straight line behind the limbo pole. Keep each line at least 5 yards from the limbo pole. Make sure each player has room to maneuver before the next contestant goes. Students must pass underneath the limbo stick without letting it touch any part of their body. Players cannot crouch, duck or crawl to pass under, meaning they have to bend backwards to get underneath the pole. Their hands cannot touch the ground. After everyone has had a turn, lower the stick to the next peg and have everyone attempt to pass under the bar again. A player is out if they fall over or touch the stick. Keep playing until only one person remains. If the final pole height is too low for the remaining player a tie can be declared, or move it up to the previous height and have players pass under it again until someone messes up. First place will get 20 points, second place will get 15 points, third place will get 10 points and fourth place will get 5 points.

Team Bucket Challenge
Equipment: Green buckets with holes in the bottom, blue buckets with solid bottoms, ring carriers with handled rope carriers, 5 gallon buckets filled with water
Place: Elementary Playground
Objective: In this challenge, teams use their blue buckets to fill up their green buckets and race to transport and dump the water into a storage container before all the water leaks out of the bottom. The team with the most water in their storage container at the end of the challenge wins.
Procedure: Each team should divide their students into two equal teams. Each team needs to have 1 player be the "Team Filler" while the other will be "Team Transporters". Fill a container of water for each group (6). Place an empty container about 30-40 yards away. Designate one water filled and one empty container to be used exclusively by each group. Insert the green buckets with the holes into the ring carriers. Give a blue bucket to each Team Filler and position them next to the water filled container. Have all the Team Transporters grab a handle or two at the end of the rope carriers until all the handles are being held. Team Transporters should be positioned beside their empty containers at the start of the challenge.
At a start signal from an instructor, the Team Transporters rush to their Team Filler and holding onto the handles only maneuver their green bucket as close as possible to the Team Filler, who then dips their blue bucket into the water and dumps it into the green bucket. If all of the water from the blue bucket does not go into the green bucket for any reason, the Team Filler can use multiple dips and pours to fill up the green bucket as much as desired. Once the bucket is filled to whatever level the team decides is best, the Transporter must carefully transport it back to their empty storage container and transfer the water into the container without touching anything besides their handles. They can choose to just let the water drip out of the bottom of their leaking bucket to attempt to dump the bucket over by having some members of their team lift their handles. The process continues until time is out. The team with the most water in the container that started out as empty at the beginning of the challenge wins. You may need to measure with a ruler. First place team is 15 points, second place is 10 points and third place is 5 points.

Tic-Tac Toe Relay
Equipment: 54 hula hoops, 54 markers, 9 cones to designate 9 starting points.
Place: High School Tennis Courts
Objective: The goal is to be the first time to have their markers three in a row diagonally, vertically or horizontally.
Procedure: The game will be played 3 vs 3, 4 vs 4 depending on the number of players per team. Each student will have 1 placement marker unless there are 4 on a team. On the go signal, the first person from each team will run down to the tic-tac toe board and place their marker in one of the hula hoops. After they place the marker, they will race back to their line to high five the next student in line. The next student will then place their marker in an open hoop. The goal is to have your team get 3 in a row (horizontally, vertically or diagonally). If all 3 markers have been played and there is not tic-tac toe, the next student in line will run down and move one of their own team markers into an open hula hoop. After the game is over, pick up the markers and start again! The winning team will get 5 points for each victory.
